KASHIF SIDDIQUI - Co-CEO of Investment Bank & Head of Asset Management
Mr. Siddiqui joined EFG Hermes Asset Management in 2010 as a Co-CIO overlooking the investment team. He also co-chairs the investment committee.
Prior to joining the Asset Management division, Mr. Siddiqui worked as a Managing Director at EFG Hermes Private Equity. He also previously worked as a proprietary trader at Goldman Sachs in London within the Institutional Securities division. He was jointly responsible for a portfolio of public and private investments, and was solely responsible for an event-driven investments portfolio. He was also involved in the overall portfolio construction, risk management and oversight of the team. Prior to that, Mr. Siddiqui worked in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking division covering clients in the Telecommunications, Media and Technology sectors.
Mr. Siddiqui earned his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and his B.Comm with Great Distinction from McGill University.
NABIL MOUSSA - Managing Director, Head of Asset Management - Egypt
Mr. Nabil Moussa is the Head of Asset Management in Egypt and Portfolio Manager responsible for several long-only mandates. The mandates include financial institutions, insurance firms, government pension funds and sovereign funds. He is also a member of the investment committee.
Prior to joining EFG-Hermes, Mr. Moussa worked for HC Securities and Investment as a Managing Director overseeing the Investment and Sales Team. Mr. Moussa structured investment strategies for several long-only mutual funds and government agencies. He was also active in expanding the firm's client base.
Previously, Mr. Moussa started his career with EFG-Hermes Asset Management. He completed the Investment Analysis course of Chase and now has over 15 years of experience in Investment Management.
Mr. Moussa completed a three month training program at Morgan Stanley in New York and is a member of the Egyptian Investment Management Association (EIMA). He holds a Bachelor degree In Economics from Cairo University with a minor in Political Science.
MOHAMED ABDEL-HALIM - Managing Director
Mohamed Abdel-Halim is a Managing Director at EFG Hermes Asset Management. Mr Abdel-Halim joined EFG Hermes in 2006 as Head of Business Development, Asset Management, and in 2011 became responsible for Business Development for Private Equity as well. He is also a member of the Investment Committee that decides on the asset allocation for both mutual funds and portfolios within Asset Management.
Prior to joining EFG Hermes, Mr Abdel-Halim was a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Global Private Client in Dubai where he was responsible for managing Institutional and High Net Worth Individual’s wealth in excess of USD 250 million.
Mr Abdel-Halim is a graduate of Boston University with a concentration in Economics and obtained his Master of Science (honors) in Finance and Investment Management from Boston University Graduate School of Management.
KHALIL EL BAWAB - Managing Director - Head of Fixed Income
Khalil El Bawab joined EFG Hermes in May 2007 and is responsible for managing a variety Egyptian money market, capital protected, and fixed income funds and portfolios with AUMs close to $2Bln under his management.
Prior to joining EFG Hermes Asset Management, Khalil held the position of Assistant Chief Dealer at Arab Bank plc's Treasury & Capital Markets Department where he worked since 1998 and was responsible for managing a fixed income portfolio in excess of $500mios.
In 1998, Mr. El Bawab graduated with high honors (Magna Cum Laude) from the American University in Cairo with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance concentration. He went on to get his MBA in Banking and Finance from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands with distinction in 2008.
ZIAD SHAABAN - Managing Director & Head of Fixed Income
Ziad Shaaban joined EFG Hermes in 2007 to head up the Fixed Income Group and was responsible for structuring, financing, and advising on investment opportunities.
Prior to joining EFG Hermes, Mr. Shaaban worked in the credit derivatives division at JP Morgan in London since 2003.
Currently, Mr. Shaaban heads up the Fixed Income Group within Asset Management. Mr. Shaaban is a CFA Charter holder, holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
